Source: Hungary wants to sell products made from Russian oil
MOSCOW, Jun 2 (PRIME) -- Hungary demands that the E.U. allow Budapest to sell oil products refined from Russian oil and excluded Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill from the blacklist, an E.U. source told PRIME on Thursday.
“They discussed technical details of the deadlines for resale of Russian oil products coming via a pipeline to the E.U., but I think finding common ground here with the (European) Commission will not be easy," the source said.
Media reported earlier that Hungary’s permanent representative in Brussels opposed blacklisting of the patriarch and made technical objections against an embargo on Russian oil.
According to the source, Hungary will not approve the sixth package of sanctions against Russia until Patriarch Kirill is delisted.
